Does anyone know of a website for complete novices for vegetable growing. This is my first season with a small veg plot and I have definitely played safe with my choices, but would like to increase my range but as a newbie im unsure what to choose. I know some of you are veg growers and any advice would be appreciated.

it is our first time growing but they are doing quite well i bought a mag but there just as expensive as cross stitch mags so i dont think i will buy it regularly

Mandy, what if you put vegie gardens in 'ggogle' and see what comes up.
We have had a vegie garden for several years now, across the back of our property, and we have grown lettuce, tomatoes, capsicum, spring onions, beans, eggplant, pumpkins, cucumbers, radishes, garlic, zucchini. Also parsley and mint. We do not have much luck with carrots and potatoes. And we have about 10 large pots with strawberry plants in.
They say tomatoes should not be planted in the same place two years in a row.

Thanks all, Im the same Emma, plant and hope. I can reccommend a weekly paper called Amateur Gardener which have free seeds every week. its about £1.60 but I only get it when there are seeds on it i want, mainly flower seeds but a good way to build up your seed stash. I am going to pull up some of my carrots today as they look ready. I will post a picture of my 'small patch' later. Babs, your plot sounds very fruitfull, i think that growing more unusal veg is better as things like pots and carrots are cheap enough to buy. What has been your biggest pumpkin? A program over here showed and pumpkin that need several firemen to lift it onto a trailer .

Our pumpkins only get to the size you get in the shops.
But things you grow yourself always taste a lot nicer. |
